We all go through the same routine that life brings, and we get stuck in the comfort zone from the constant routine. Sometimes stepping outside the comfort zone will give us the push to do something we do not normally do, such as going on a food date by yourself. We just need this push to do things that are out of the norm and sometimes it pays off. So here are some reasons you should step out of the comfort zone
This is my biggest reason for taking that giant leap outside the comfort zone. I am such a foodie and when I was single with no friends, I would go on food dates by myself. I know it sounds pathetic, but trust me, it was the best experience ever. Not only did it teach me independence, but I was able to step outside the boundaries that told me I needed to have someone else to eat out with. However you decide to take that small step, do it for the life experience. I have this cousin who loves to travel and she often does it by herself. Who knows, you could meet some amazing people, or heck, the love of your life. Step out of the comfort zone to go experience life adventures.
Have you been stuck in the same routine of everyday life? I often find myself stuck in this cycle every now and then. This one is a simple way to step out of the comfort zone. Instead of going to the same coffee shop in your area, go to a different one and have a different experience. Go to a different nail salon and who knows, maybe they will be better, or their customer service will be better. Go out there and change things up. Instead of meal prepping the same meals, change it up to have some variety. Cook some different meal that you haven’t made because you’re used to cooking the same things you like. These are simple ways to change things up
This one is pretty self-explanatory. We often times set goals where we need to get out of our comfort zone. For instance, my goal is to step into the gym and start working out. I finally went to the gym but I had to push myself to do it. Often if we step out of the comfort zone, we can accomplish some goals that we has been on the back of our minds. For instance, you’ve been thinking of running a 5K but you only run 1 mile everyday. Then one day you just go for it and you accomplish that one goal you didn’t really think about. There are so many explanations for this one. So pick one goal and accomplish it, simply by stepping a little outside the box.
Just to do something out of the norm
Okay, this one pretty much sums up all of the ones above, but sometimes we just need a little change. Instead of going home the same route, change it up if you can. Take the stairs instead of the elevator and you will get a workout from the stairs if you’re on the 6th floor. Instead of making the same blueberry muffins, like I do, change it up and do coffee cake muffins. Just change the small things to get you out of your comfort zone. The small changes over time really do add up and before you know it, you will be a different person who likes to try new things.
I love taking some time and stepping out of the comfort zone every once and a while. It can be a little scary depending on what it is but trust me, sometimes your soul needs it. You’ll come out a much happier person and you will learn so much about yourself. So take that leap and do the things that scare you, or just switch things up.
